POSITION SUMMARY
 
As a member of the Zoetis HR team, provide HR consultancy and coaching to leaders, managers and colleagues within assigned client group, which includes Zoetis' Veterinary Medicine Research and Development (VMRD) organization, Kalamazoo Manufacturing Operations as well as other manufacturing groups across multiple sites. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Requires a proven track record as a successful business partner and influencer to managers and leaders. Experience should demonstrate success in support of large organizations, preferably in an R&D and/or Manufacturing environment, with a track record of delivering operational effectiveness, implementing change activities, aligning HR goals with business imperatives, building relationships, coaching clients and colleagues.
 
• Provide proactive counsel, communications, and HR generalist support to client group leaders and managers to drive the achievement of business goals.
 
• Responsible for partnering with managers in the administration of compensation and performance management programs, data quality, succession planning, recruitment, employment, employee development, colleague engagement and employee relations.
 
• Ensure consistent application of HR policies and state and federal laws and practices. Support EEO initiatives at site(s).
 
• Within the HR department, make recommendations to improve work processes and help promote an atmosphere of continuous learning.
 
• Drive successful execution of HR Programs and processes, managing multiple priorities concurrently through strong project management, systems knowledge, and effective communications.
 
• Create a strong network of HR partners across HR organization, and other divisions as appropriate to collaboratively drive and implement HR strategies in support of the business.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
 
Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Human Relations, or related discipline.
 
• Masters Degree in related discipline preferred.
 
• Minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible Human Resources generalist experience.
 
• Previous experience in an R&D and/or manafucturing environment preferred.
 
• Experience with Performance Management, Talent Management approaches and systems, Employee Relations, Compensation programs and Human Resources laws and regulations.
 
• Demonstrated skills in leadership, integration, facilitation, complex problem solving, and conflict resolution.
 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong coaching skills.
 
• Demonstrated ability to provide consultative support to management on critical organization issues.
 
• Ability to work effectively in an environment of change and manage multiple priorities concurrently through strong project management, systems knowledge, and effective communication.

Job Description
Provides leadership and management to the laboratory and oversees all activities to meet safety, quality, production, and cost objectives. It also includes working with sales, marketing and customer service to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Responsibilities
 
BS/Ph.D.:  The selected individual will be responsible for the planning and execution of a wide range of studies in the area of Human Food Safety including total residue analysis, metabolic profiling and analytical method development in primarily livestock species and to a lesser extent in laboratory species. Hands-on laboratory work with complex biological matrices (plasma, excreta, tissues) is anticipated.

Ph.D.:  The candidate will participate on project teams and sub-teams as molecules move through the development process.

Pfizer Inc. is seeking a Senior Scientist / Principal Scientist. This  a full-time associate position in research and science for the pharmaceutical industry in Kalamazoo, Mich.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The individual selected for this job will be responsible for the planning and execution of a wide range of studies in the area of Human Food Safety including total residue analysis, metabolic profiling and analytical method development in primarily livestock species and to a lesser extent in laboratory species.

Hands-on laboratory work with complex biological matrices (plasma, excreta, tissues) is anticipated.

The candidate will be responsible for writing the technical reports associated with these studies and presenting/defending the data to government officials (FDA) responsible for dossier review and registration.

The candidate will participate on project teams and sub-teams as molecules move through the development process. Supervisory experience is not required, but a desire to assume management responsibilities at some future date would be considered a positive attribute.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum skills, education, experience, attributes:
• Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, biochemistry or organic chemistry.
• Excellent knowledge of techniques for extraction and purification of compounds from complex biological matrices.
• Experience with advanced instrumental analysis, especially mass spectroscopy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, matrix environment.

Desirable skills, education, experience, attributes:
• 1-3 years post-doctoral experience in medicinal chemistry and/or drug metabolism.
• Working knowledge of GLPs and ability and desire to work in a highly regulated environment.
• Experience with interacting with external organizations, especially governmental groups.
• Working knowledge of the animal health industry, especially in the area of food safety.
• Experience with working with radioactive molecules.
• Supervisory Experience.

Responsibilities

The person who accepts this position is responsible for providing humane care to all laboratory animals and will perform assigned technical and administrative functions within the guidelines and requirements outlined in a protocol or appropriate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), thus producing sound, reliable data from which to evaluate the efficacy or toxicity of a test compound.

Duties and Responsibilities (the purpose of the function and result to be accomplished) include but are not limited to:

• Performs basic husbandry functions daily (i.e., feeding/watering, monitoring health).

• Carefully handles animals to prevent injury to technician or animal.

• Administers test article daily via such routes as bolus intravenous injection, subcutaneous injection, oral gavage, and intravenous infusion.

• Collects and documents data daily on an electronic data capture system or appropriate form(s).
• Performs functions used to evaluate the toxicity of the test article (i.e., electrocardiograms, blood pressure measurements, detailed clinical observations, body weight measurements).
