SAIC is seeking a Desk Support Specialist for its operation in Battle Creek Michigan. The Logistics and Engineering Solutions Business Unit of SAIC is looking for a Help Desk Support Specialist. This position will be hired in Battle Creek Michigan but will be required to move to Lansing  permanently in September 2012.

Job Description
The person who is hired for this position will support internal and external end users in a call center environment.

The current technical environment is Windows 7 with Office 2010.

Essential duties would be to resolve and troubleshoot first level support for all desktop hardware and software related issues over the phone. Candidate needs to have the ability to track tickets via ticketing system.

Those that cannot be resolved need to be escalated to the appropriate group.

This position reports to the Helpdesk Manager. May be required to work alternate shifts in support of the 24x7 call center.

Must have the ability to:
Handle routine tasks with no assistance, general instructions on new assignments. Apply job skills and company policies to complete a wide range of tasks. Resolve issues related to IT Support (i.e. Basic network support, PC troubleshooting, application troubleshooting, and other anomalies that may develop). Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.

Must have knowledge of:
Desktop operating systems, various software applications and basic hardware for the PC; principles and theories of network systems and management; Internet technologies and products

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree in Computer Science or related field plus 3 to 4+ years related experience.
Must have experience with commonly used ADP equipment, including pc/notebooks, common peripherals, communication equipment, large systems and web based applications.

CERTIFICATE:
This position requires the incumbent possess a MCTS (Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist) on current Microsoft 7 AND possess a CompTIA Security+CE, CompTIA Network+CE or CompTIA A+CE certificate.

CLEARANCE:
Must be able to attain a Department of Defenst approved security clearance. Must be United States citizen.
