Stryker Corp. is looking for a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager for its Kalamazoo operation.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position will provide support for Corporate FP&A by serving as a well rounded finance resource, able to provide accurate and timely analyses and insights to the Stryker executive team, including the CEO, CFO, CAO, and Board of Directors. This position will be a critical resource in the development and preparation of standard financial reporting packages, in responding to ad hoc financial requests from executive management, and in defining and executing on the processes through which the Corporate FP&A department accomplishes its tasks. This position is highly visible, and daily interaction is expected with members of the global Stryker finance community.

POSITION DUTIES (TASKS, FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES)
• Preparation and delivery of recurring management reporting packages

• Coordinate and communicate with Stryker global finance network to facilitate consolidated reporting requirements

• Ad Hoc reporting based on requests from executive management

• Perform analytical reviews of various financial models, including business cases, capital requests, and M&A.

• Support the annual budgeting / strategic planning process through financial modeling and analysis, template and process development, ensuring organizational coordination, and development of presentation materials.

• Driver of continuous improvement with respect to existing processes and deliverables.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION /WORK EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS)
• Strong analytical skills, as well as business acumen and ability to apply independent judgment.

• Detailed oriented yet capable of grasping the big picture.

• Able to work under time pressures without comprising accuracy.

• Ability to concisely convey key messages based on output of data analyses.

• Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint, advanced HFM skills.

• Collaborative and flexible with a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance, 5-8 years of financial analysis background required with financial modeling preferred.

Job Description
Primary resource for supporting the Plant in its Lean Transformation through the implementation of the Parker Lean System (PLS).

Delivers practical, hands-on training to associates in PLS methodology and tools to eliminate waste in all administrative, manufacturing, and support functions.

Measures and reports progress on an on-going basis using the site’s Win Scorecard and site’s PLS Lean Journey Assessment.

Trains and develops associates in PLS methodology and tools to eliminate waste in all administrative, manufacturing and support functions.
 
Reports to the Division Lean Manager. Ensures full PLS education and implementation in all functional areas at the plant or facility level to ensure consistency and sustainability.

Provides leadership and direction to the Site Staff. Develops and manages the Lean team, where appropriate.
 
Essential Functions
Guides all PLS initiatives at the facility.

Works with Site leadership on Lean implementation using Parker Lean Systems as the principal tool. Ensures the development of a robust Lean Future State Strategy to be implemented at the site.
 
Ensures adherence to PLS standards for the Site, Value Stream and Team Improvement Boards, enabling a PDCA culture and progression of the Lean Journey.

Where appropriate, supports Plant Lean team members through required and special team meetings.

Provides high level of technical and operational recommendations in meeting productivity, material control, product quality, and customer service goals.
 
Ensures that the site organizational structure has been reviewed and that resources are aligned for the Lean Transformation. 
 
Ensures on-going education of all employees at the site in PLS. Promotes a Continuous Learning environment.
 
Communicates the status of all Lean efforts to the Division Lean Manager. Provides documentation of results and benefits achieved to the Division Staff as reported through Parker's Lean Journey Assessment and Win scorecard.
 
Shares "best practice" methods and ideas with Division Lean Manager.
 
Desired Skills and Experience
Four years of successful manufacturing experience with at least two years of direct Lean leadership.
 
Four-year degree required.
 
A demonstrated understanding of Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S’s, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, SPC, Six Sigma and Communication Tools, Statistical Problem Solving and QS9000.
 
Good understanding of financial measurements and goals in the Lean/Flow throughput world.
 
Effective presentation skills to share the success and ideas of the Division.

• Develop commodity strategy for required commodities. • Coordinate the exchange of technical information regarding product and product processing with adequate safeguards for confidentiality.

• Negotiate resolution (as required) of Eaton claims (i.e., cost, time, rework, scrap, labor, sorting charges) with suppliers regarding non-conforming material.

• Evaluate social, economic, and governmental information to determine the risks and opportunities regarding global sourcing (i.e., tariffs, dumping duties, exchange rates, etc.).
