Job Description

This person hire to take this position will manage the strategic coordination of sourcing and supplier relationship management including developing commodity strategies, leading supplier selection activities, and establishing purchase contracts governing assigned commodities.

Emphasis is on selection and management of vendors so as to provide Eaton with the highest levels of quality at the lowest landed cost while insuring adequate capacity, on-time delivery, and commitment to continuous improvement. The scope includes supporting current products as well as new product development.

The primary responsibilities are as follows:

• Develop commodity strategy for required commodities. This includes segmenting the commodity into sourceable categories, developing and executing supply base right-sizing, three year road maps to improve supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery), and ensuring appropriate levels of capacity to support business unit demand.

• Manages supplier relationships and opportunities for cost out and product/supplier improvement, while ensuring production, delivery, and capacity requirements for all commodities.

• Participate in the activities (i.e., PPAP, supplier approval process, specification/print development when necessary, trials, etc.) during supplier start-up. Coordinate cost estimating and design parameters for new projects and products.

• Applies skillful negotiations with internal and external suppliers; conducts problem resolution and settles disputes; develops win/win solutions and creates positive relations with tact and expert judgment.

• Coordinate the exchange of technical information regarding product and product processing with adequate safeguards for confidentiality.

• Negotiate resolution (as required) of Eaton claims (i.e., cost, time, rework, scrap, labor, sorting charges) with suppliers regarding non-conforming material.

• Evaluate social, economic, and governmental information to determine the risks and opportunities regarding global sourcing (i.e., tariffs, dumping duties, exchange rates, etc.).

• Actively participate in teams working towards continuous process improvements, elimination of waste, simultaneous engineering, and advanced product quality planning.

• Support the corporate sponsored IDEAS program and its associated activities and tools.

• Develop productive relationships with others in Supply Chain Management, mentoring, teaching and training.

• Comply with Eaton standard SCM processes and policies both locally and at the corporate level.

• Locate and develop new suppliers to improve the capability of Eaton’s supply base.

Position Criteria:

Summary

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent skill level, training or experience in related field. Must demonstrate knowledge in the use of lean manufacturing and project management tools.

Experience working with GD&T is a plus, however, must be knowledgeable with tools used as part of a quality system such as PFMEA, Gage R&R, capability studies, tolerance stack-ups, standard deviation and the use of a CMM.

Must be knowledgeable in basic manufacturing equipment and their use including lathes, mills, plasma, welders, and presses.

Must be proficient in CAD and Microsoft office software.  Experience in metal fabrication, cellular manufacturing, and the properties of material used in site furniture such as steel, aluminum, wood, and plastics.
 
Must be knowledgeable in long-range planning and scheduling and ability to analyze data and compile detailed reports and/or budgets.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and deal with problems involving concrete variables. 

The person in this position must possess a high level of communication and reasoning ability, as he or she is required to work with a variety disciplines and lead project teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

• PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmacology, or related discipline with more than 2 years of ndustry experience (or BS/MS with >10 years of industry experience and more than 2 years experience serving as project team representative/subteam leader for drug discovery/development teams)

• Advanced knowledge of PK, PK/PD, pharmacology, and bioanalytical chemistry, particularly for large molecules (proteins/peptides, oligonucleotides, etc.)

• Comprehensive knowledge of methods for quantitative analysis (LC-MS/MS, immunoassays) and biological sample prep for large molecules (proteins/peptides, oligonucleotides, etc.).

• Working knowledge of principles and concepts in adjacent disciplines for biotherapeutic projects (toxicology, molecular biology, protein/peptide chemistry, drug synthesis/formulation, protein expression/characterization, etc.)

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in other disciplines on project teams

• Ability to work under minimum supervision and direction

Key Function One: Advocacy. The Executive Director (ED) will promote the needs and desires of individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD).

• Build and maintain relationships with community members, referral agencies, funding organizations, and other key stakeholders to support client service needs and the continued growth and stability of the agency;

• Broaden public awareness of persons with I/DD, as well as of the agency and its mission, programs and role in the local community;

• Communicate effectively with clients, volunteers, donors and the public;

• Identify and strengthen opportunities for strategic collaboration with other agencies, businesses, schools and groups;

• Lead in the effort to promote a positive image of the organization and the people The Arc Community Advocates supports;

Key Function Two: Programs. The Executive Director will oversee all programming as determined by the Strategic Plan.

This includes communicating a clear and compelling strategy to board, staff, funding sources, and partner organizations;

Key Function Three: Financial Management and Fund Development.  The ED will manage the fiscal resources consistent with the organizational mission and the directives of the Board of Directors, and will work with the Board to ensure that the financial resources are available to the organization to fulfill its mission.

• Prepare annual fund development plan including identification of potential grant sources, corporate donations, and individual donors;

• Write grant proposals for funding;

• Fundraise according to the Benevon Model;

• Maintain relationships with donors and develop new ones;

• Assure fiscal compliance with all grant contracts;

• Develop new partner relationships and strengthen existing relationships through donor recognition events and public relations activities;

• Assure timely and appropriate acknowledgement of agency donors and investors;

• Prepare annual budget with accountant and Board Finance Committee;

• Ensure that the agency is fiscally sound and operated in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, board and agency policies and procedures, and all other applicable rules and guidelines;

• Oversee all accounting functions including those necessary for auditing, budgeting, financial analysis, capital asset and property;

• Ensure that the budget supports implementation of the strategic plan;

• Be responsible for grants, funding and contract management; and

• Ensure that an independent CPA is engaged to conduct annual financial audit.

Key Function Four: Supervise Staff. The ED will establish a working environment that inspires and nurtures creativity and continuous growth, fosters cooperation and communication, and contributes to the organizational goals.

• Recruit, hire, manage, and empower staff.  Build an organizational culture that attracts, sustains, supports, motivates and retains a diverse group of highly committed and talented staff;

• Recommend personnel policies and administer those approved by the Board;

• Delegate tasks;

• Create, review and maintain Employee Handbook and Policy;

• Develop and maintain personnel files

• Analyze and coordinate employee benefits and ensure enrollment and termination of same;

• Ensure staff are properly trained, including orientation of new employees;

Key Function Five: Board Relations. The ED will support and partner with the Board of Directors to model exceptional governance practices, fiduciary oversight and strategic leadership.

• Work with the Board to develop and implement a strategic plan and annual budget;

• Serve as a liaison to the Board and its committees;

• Implement policies developed in conjunction with the Board;

• Ensure that the Board is kept fully informed on conditions, operations, and all important factors influencing them;

• Give guidance on matters of program, publications, budget, and legal responsibility;

• Assist in the recruitment, training, and retention of Board members and volunteers;

• Attend all meetings of the Board and the Executive Committee; and

Work with Purchasing to help achieve cost targets with suppliers. This person will not negotiate pricing with a supplier but can aide purchasing in this role.

Work with Purchasing and Accounting to achieve a formal process where Getman can accurately charge back suppliers for issues that directly affect us.  Work with suppliers to eliminate issues like these from reaching us.  Require and review formal problem solving from suppliers to avoid future quality issues.

Work with Engineering to address specification issues that may result from suppliers.

Be the key Getman contact for current supplier part related issues.

Work with the Director of Operations and President to seek out new sources for supplied parts.

Travel as necessary to suppliers to maintain relationships and or handle quality issues that may arise.  

Other duties may be assigned.

About the role

Hydro Aluminum is recruiting an experienced Regional Controller for our Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Missouri locations.

Ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background, preferably in a manufacturing environment, and proven financial leadership with multi-site oversight. Responsibilities

• Serves as a key member of the management team to drive positive business results with multi-site plant locations.

• Develops and mentors finance/accounting staff.

• Performs month end close and financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.
