B.C. Enquirer: Students' artwork welcomes visitors

Art created by local young people in Battle Creek has been affixed to the 300-foot, steel-mesh screen installation on I-194/M-66. The screen, part of the downtown transformation project, was erected in 2010. In recent days, the Battle Creek Enquirer reports, the student artwork that decorates it was put in place. Featured is the work of Naomi Haralson of Bellevue High School, whose "Battle Creek Boom Train" was the grand prize winner in the 2009 competition. The image depicts recognizable Battle Creek buildings being brought into town on a train.
