Monroe Brown Internships for 2014 announced

If you are an incoming junior, senior, or graduate student at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College, Davenport University's Kalamazoo campus the Monroe-Brown Internship program might be what you are looking for.

The program provides interns with $5,500 in scholarship funding for college and career experience through an internship paid for and supported by the Southwest Michigan business community. This year the program offers 41 internships at 31 different companies. See the full list of participating companies here.

The program also is open to students attending Michigan State University and University of Michigan who have attended high school in the greater Kalamazoo area.

Internships in architecture, engineering, environmental science, financial management, health sciences, human resources, information technology, interior design, merchandising, production planning, marketing, and sales are among those available.

Once the intern is hired, he or she will work for the company for at least 400 hours between May and September. This is typically full-time for ten weeks, but can be customized to suit the needs of the individual companies and interns.

A number of interns have gone on to be hired by participating companies into full-time positions upon graduation.
Throughout the internship, the student will receive hourly wages,  networking opportunities and applied career experience.
