Kalamazoo Community Foundation hires two new managers

The Kalamazoo Community Foundation recently hired two new managers.

Sandy Barry-Loken, former director of Girls on the Run, has been hired as a community investment manager. She is working in the area of grants and community leadership.

Before she worked for 11 years at Girls on the Run, the last eight as director, Barry-Loken worked at Western Michigan University. She was director of Student Activities and Leadership Programs, assistant director of Student Activities, and executive assistant to the vice president for Student Affairs.

She has a bachelor’s degree in public relations and aa master's degree in counselor education and counseling psychology from WMU.

Selena Jepkema, who has been consulting with the Kalamazoo Community Foundation as an accounting systems analyst for seven months, has been hired as data base manager, a new post for the organization.

Jepkema, an adjunct accounting professor at Davenport University, previously worked as a cost analyst for Post Foods, a client services consultant at Ceterus, Inc., finance associate at the Battle Creek Community Foundation, and as a financial auditor for PriceWaterhouse Coopers. She has a bachelor's of business administration and an master's degree in accountancy from Eastern Michigan University.
