For those who provide music and messages for their telephone customers waiting on hold, traditional music and message platforms can be glitchy, cumbersome and provide poor solutions for companies with multiple locations. A new service from Easy On Hold addresses those concerns.
Easy On Hold has launched a streaming service that can be customized to the customer's needs. Clients can get customized 30- to 60-second spots mixed in a music track that fits their business. The spots play back randomly to provide a unique listening experience, rather than the typical four-minute loop that sounds exactly the same as customers are on hold.
“Or, our clients can choose to have the spots play back on a specific schedule, right down to the day, date, and time each spot plays, and they can even choose one spot to play more often than others for impact," says Easy On Hold founder and technical director Tim Brown. "This is ideal for a medical office announcing flu shots for a limited time, a retailer with an important sale, or a city announcing power outages in a certain area."
The new service also allows customers to manage their own playback schedules and make changes in real time.
Clients get streaming that plays their own URL stream. There is nothing to download and no reason to create CDs or cassettes.
Certain customers also now can load their own custom stream of custom messages and music without the aid of a technician.
OnSIP is one of the companies that hosts such platforms. OnSip Cofounder and President Robert Wolpov says they were approached by Easy On Hold with the idea to create a custom message on hold stream compatible with the OnSIP platform.
"Previously, our customers could choose from a finite selection of music," Wolpov says. "Now, they can use hold time to communicate important company information, promotions and special events, mixed with music. It's a high-end on-hold experience; no other company is providing a streaming service like Easy On Hold. It's an important technological achievement, and we applaud them for cracking the code, so to speak.”
Says Brown, “We have ushered the message and music on hold industry into the 21st century.”
