Changing the face of downtown with historic redevelopment

When the Metropolitan Center was renovated by MAVCON new LEED standards for environmental excellence went in place along with historical renovation of the 140-year-old building. Attention to historical detail meant original tin ceiling uncovered in the front room of the first building was replicated throughout all four buildings. Tiles are exactly the way they were when they went into the buildings in 1908. And the sign for PNC bank is built to look exactly like the original sign on the building, except for the name of the business, which said Chop Suey.
