Dimplex Thermal Solutions expands, adds jobs

Dimplex Thermal Solutions has hired 100 people during the past couple of years -- 20 of them since 2012 began. And due to an influx of business that began in 2009, Dimplex will soon double its 6,000-square-feet of office space by purchasing a soon-to-be-vacant building next door to its plant.

"Industrial manufacturing in general has been experiencing tremendous growth and you don't hear much about that," says president Ola Wettergren. "We are investing in equipment, people and engineering to grab more of the market share and to expand to other areas."

Dimplex Thermal Solutions sells chillers that help a variety of types of manufacturers chill their manufacturing processes, including medical, milling, welding and food processing industries. "Some laser machines that cut materials generate heat and they need to be kept cool to run," he says.

Wettergren elaborates further.

"This is not typical air conditioning," he says. "If you have ever had an MRI done, there's a good chance that one of our chillers supplied cold water to keep the MRI machine cool. They also help keep food at the right temperatures while it is being processed."

Wettergren cannot predict whether the hiring will continue, but is optimistic for increases in the future.

"We'll see how the market develops," Wettergren says. "But I am forecasting continued growth."
